 The mission of Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) has been in Benin since the 9th of June, 2009 and has began its work with the Competent Authority. The official opening ceremony of the mission took place at the Directorate of Fisheries. The Technical adviser for Fisheries, representing the Minister, was in attendance at the ceremony. |

Benin in the last lap before the arrival of the FVO |
 In anticipation of the arrival of the inspectors of Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) in June, the Beninese Competent Authority is putting all the last touches in place, in order to host the European Union delegation under optimal conditions. In this framework, an important meeting led by the Technical Adviser of Fishery took place on the 27th of May, 2009, at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. The meeting was attended by officials at various levels of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries; the Management of Fisheries; the Association of Transformers and Fishing Enterprises; the Projet d'Appui au Secteur Privé (PASP); the Delegation of the European Union and the Japanese Cooperation. |
